um, haley...

...are you done with the Journal yet?

I've emailed you a couple of times and you've yet to respond...so, yeah. Your two weeks has been...exceded.

Okay?

Email me.

Me and Robby of Once Upon a Book Blog have started something similar to the Journal, but not really. Its kind of an online literary magazine, where teenagers or adults submit something--poem, story, picture, song, whatever--detailing the hardships of teenage life. Have something you wanna get off your chest? Don't want anyone to find out? No worries, it could be completly anonymous if you choose.

If your not interested in writing anything, but still have some burning questions that need answering, try out Dear Robby feature. Under the Contact/Submission tab, you'll find a form where you can write your question and Robby or I will answer as many as we can every week. Good stuff.

So. Haley. Get back to me.

Audrey of France (land of the cheese!)

The Big Fat Nerd Journal arrived during a storm. And thank goodness.
I was supposed to leave home and head back to France, and it was looking like I was going to be doing that without the journal. Then a HUGE thunderstorm paired with massive fog and massive wind came in, and my flight was canceled.
The journal arrived that afternoon.

The next day, my flight was once again canceled, but at this point I HAD to get back to France. So the journal accompanied me on a drive around the state of Louisiana trying to make it to an airport in time to catch a flight that was actually heading out. We succeeded, and thus the journal and I got to spend New Year's Eve flying across the Atlantic Ocean.

We celebrated in every time zone! :-)

Back in France, the journal and I had a great time together. It accompanied me to my Japanese classes and learned some nihon-go (Japanese). It sat quietly on the sidelines and watched me at my Viet Vo Dao classes, witness as I rocked the test to move up a belt!

It joined me to several French cafes, it joined me as I showed friends around the Latin Quarter and the Marais, and, lucky for the journal, it even got to take one of my rare trips up to the top of the Eiffel Tower with me. I did my best to write in it every day in the beginning, but towards the end I just liked having it around with me.

The journal and I had an absolutely fabulous time together (I'm really hoping it feels the same way), and I'm hoping that it will want to come back and visit me again after it's done more traveling.

Thank you, Big Fat Nerd Journal, for such a wonderful time! :-)

Dear Journal...where you at?

Okay, so, most of you probably saw this coming, but...the Journal has been...not lost...it just hasn't shown up yet.

Our next recipient, Brizmus, has informed me it has niether arrived at her vacation home in the US or her home in France, and Cindy has assured me she has sent it out around the time her post was published. So...what up with that?

I mean, it's not like it would be the end of the world. I have tons of journals lying around this house, and we've only gotten to one stop on the tour, so it's not like it would take a super-human effort to get everything back in order, but...really, Journal? You couldn't make it one flippin' stop? I'm disapointed.

And, you guys, if we do get this worked out, perhaps a few of you could invest in Delivery Confirmation? It would really be helpful.

P.S. Cindy...you did send it, right?

Stop #1: Cindy, California

Being the first to receive the Big Fat Nerd Journal, I wasn't really sure what to do with it. So I carried it around in my bag everywhere.

For the first week I wrote in it everyday, I think, especially during class because it was more interesting to write in it and decorate it a bit instead of listening to my professors. It was a nice journal, keeping me company in class :) We would whisper amongst each other in the back because I hate sitting in the front, and tell each other secrets and share favorite songs.

We also made a few mini-trips together, the first being Venice beach for a photo shoot with my friends. They asked me what the journal was, and I explained that it was the awesomest journal ever. And they believed me. Well not really, but they thought the idea was cool too. We also went to Pasadena, Santa Monica, South Central and Downtown L.A.. It liked seeing the sights. It rode the metro with me all the way to Hollywood and stared at all the crazy people in the city.

I think the journal enjoyed its stay in Long Beach, at least I hope it did because I want it to visit me again. I hope the next person enjoys it too :) Have fun Big Fat Nerd Journal, you shall be missed!

We Need A Button--Volunteers?

Alright, Nerds, by now we have all realized that any thing which is a proper thing has a proper thing button. And I like to think the Big Fat Nerd Journal is, in fact, a proper thing. Therefore, we need a button. Since I am inept at all things electronical, I will be needing some assistance. I'm thinking something that says either "Big Fat Nerd Journal Tour", "I Am A Big Fat Nerd" or something along those lines. If anyone wants to take a swing at it, email me your button idea/URL. I don't really have any prizes to offer except maybe a Dirty Little Secrets bookmark:

and some shameless promotion. And the satisfaction of seeing your button on the sidebars of countless blogs throughout the internets.

Any suggestions accepted!
